Why the busiest weeks look so busy
Some Tuesdays carry far more titles than others. September 29 and October 27 each list more than 50 Blu-rays. Both weeks carry large batches from boutique and archive labels. Warner Archive alone has 12 titles on October 27.
Many of these are catalog titles, not new films. A heavy week may still hold only a few new studio releases. If you only follow new movies, the big weekly count can look busier than it feels.
How to use Blu-ray.com for dates
Blu-ray.com lists release dates in its main menu, alongside reviews, deals and a forum. Each edition gets its own page with its street date, specs and region code. That makes it easy to check a single title.
A calendar like High-Def Digest's is easier for scanning a whole week at once. Use the calendar to spot titles, then open the Blu-ray.com edition page to confirm specs. Our guide to Blu-ray.com explains how to read those edition pages.
How far ahead Blu-ray dates are set
On the calendar above, early November already lists 16 to 20 titles a week, while mid-December lists 7 or fewer. Studios and labels tend to announce a few months out, so later weeks fill in over time.
Boutique labels often announce a whole month's slate at once. Criterion, for example, has at least one title in almost every week above. Check back every couple of weeks if you are waiting on a later title.
When a date slips
A street date can move for manufacturing, shipping or rights reasons. If a date changes, most stores keep your preorder and ship on the new date. Check your store's preorder terms if you want the option to cancel.

Verdict on Blu-ray dates
Blu ray dates this fall peak on September 29 and October 27, with boutique and archive labels filling much of each week. Use a weekly calendar to spot titles, confirm specs on the Blu-ray.com edition page, and treat any date more than a couple of months out as likely to fill in or change.
FAQ

Tuesday, in the US. A few titles land on other days. On this fall's calendar, Criterion's The Shout is listed for Friday, October 30, 2026.
Where does Blu-ray.com list release dates?
Blu-ray.com has a release-dates section in its main menu, with filters for format and country. It is one of several large calendars, alongside High-Def Digest and DVDsReleaseDates.com.
