The Sony DVPSR510H is the model most people should buy. It connects over HDMI, so one cable carries picture and sound to any recent TV. Sony lists 1080p upscaling, which makes DVDs look cleaner on an HD screen, though it cannot add detail the disc does not have.
It plays DVDs and recordable DVDs, audio CDs, and JPEG and MP3 files from disc. Sony also lists multi-disc resume, which remembers where you stopped on several discs, and a remote that can control many TV brands. Sony notes plainly that it is not a Blu-ray player.
